PRS SE CE 24: Performance-enhanced beginner/intermediate guitar with PRS gig bag
$450Full Step-Up Refinement
As with most of the guitars I rescue, this guitar makes me wonder whether, if I'd set it up first, the previous owner would have decided to hold onto it. I wouldn't be surprised. These PRS SEs continue to surprise me with their build quality. This guitar plays exceptionally well, with almost zero fret buzz despite having neck relief dialed in to 0.004" and string height set low to 3/64" on the treble side and 4/64" on the bass side.
The CE ("Classic Electric") stands out in the PRS lineup by pairing a solid mahogany body with a bolt-on maple neck. While set-neck PRS models lean warm and thick, the bolt-on construction delivers extra attack, percussive snap, and clarity—giving you the best of both worlds between classic humbucker tone and bolt-on responsiveness.
Key Features & Standout Specs:
- Bolt-On Maple Neck: Wide Thin profile with a smooth satin finish—fast, comfortable, and zero sticky gloss.
- Matte Satin Finish: Lets the solid mahogany body resonate freely while resisting fingerprints and glare.
- PRS 85/15 "S" Pickups: Balanced, articulate humbuckers that maintain clarity across clean, crunch, and high-gain tones.
- Push/Pull Coil Split: Master tone control splits both humbuckers for snappy, single-coil bite (6 total pickup configurations).
- PRS Hardware & Fretboard: 25" scale, 10" radius rosewood fretboard with classic PRS bird inlays, 24 medium jumbo frets, and PRS patented molded tremolo.
- Fresh Setup: Neck relief adjusted, fretboard conditioned, and action set low with clean intonation.
Everything works 100% as it should. Electronics are clean and quiet, frets show minimal wear, and the finish is clean.
